This must be a paid review or a staff member of Vultr as you can see this person has wrote a review about vultr blocking port 25 with 5 star ratings and trying to be reasoning . literally answered my query when he could have directly added a reply to my review!

The other thing is that he has added the response in the same day (I gave them 1 star and they have added a 5 star review and the topic is about port 25 lol +10 likes just for his review while other users don't have any like, strange - maybe your colleagues up voted lol)
(moved from digital occean?) Vultr and digital ocean have similar dashboard there could be a link between them I am not sure so I am not going to mention anything about on that.(As I haven't use digital ocean before)

(But features and customer support is a joke - I WOULDn't recommend it for any wordpress/joomla/magento/opencart/whmcs/clientexec/abantecart/SugarCRM or any other software that uses phpmail/sendmail/smtp etc or basically a contact form or a comment box)

Who wants to pay $65/month for SMTP relay for a third-party company just to send few personal emails ?

-they respond fast to tickets but in an unhelpful rude manner(even for a new customer), Leaseweb has so much better friendly polite customer support when comparing, their features are so high ,When I asked do you block port 25 by default? they said NO, it's up to you, you could block port 25 if you would like to but We don't block port 25 here (Also one of their representatives told me that their engineers said if someone blocks port 25 you can't send emails so that's bad) -I am not affiliated with leaseweb though )

Try vultr hosting only if you don't want to send reply emails to your incoming emails (you can't send order confirmation emails to your customers if you use WordPress/Woocommerce or any other ecommerce software (Port 25 is blocked permanently on all new accounts, they have mentioned that they unblock on special request (but they are lying after all they don't know how to welcome new customers -very rude) Don't take my word check other reviews on forums - You will be able to unblock port 25 if you are a reputable ISP or something

I personally don't like EIG group companies but I would give them A+++++ when it comes to customer support (EIG group companies are gods when it comes to customer service , only issue is their prices are too expensive) learn from them

Blocking legitimate customers are not the way to address such spam issues(there are lots of spam filtering technologies they could use) If you don't know again you could learn it from EIG group's companies or ask leaseweb or phoenix how do they handle it

if all hosting providers block port 25 to prevent abuse how would you even register on hostadvice.com/ reset your password etc , get notifications about your account on hostadvice? Port 25 is the original standard SMTP port.(you block it you should give your customers alternative solutions or just mention that you block port 25 by default before we pay you)

I was searching for "vultr instance security review" since I had an issue with their system flagging one of my VMs for running something that their security systems detected - nothing illegal or against their terms, but they had contacted me about it.
This page was the third result so I decided to see what everybody was bitching about. You weren't the only one talking about port 25. I had first hand experience dealing that that block on my account.

4. Customer Service a "joke"
I've contacted them many times, and never had an issue. I reported that in my review. If you had a bad experience, you can leave that in your own review. My review is my experience, yours is your experience. That's why reviews exist.

If you're legitimate, open a ticket and talk to them.

I left my 2 cents. I see that on the top of the hosting list on this site, ChemiCloud is listed. And rightfully so, they take the cake for the best hosting experience I've ever had. I'll admit that Vultr customer service can't touch CC, but I have yet to see any host get close to them.

You can use any port for sending emails, for example I use port 587 and 993. They block port 25 for security.

Faster network and servers? - Yes A++ on that (this is the only thing that I love about them)
Security - Should be great so A++
Basic Email Features - Hell no , try a different provider
Friendly and professional customer support - Don't even think about it - Terrible!!! They just don't know how to welcome and keep the customer (it doesn't matter how much the customer pays you monthly whether it's $40/month or $640/month you should treat your customers equally because you never know what the customer is about to purchase in next minute, it could have been a dedicated cloud or baremetal server)

Do they read your tickets properly ? - No , they just want to reply you fast and not to help you.

I was new to vultr and I was checking their features before I recommend my friend who runs a popular hosting company in North Carolina, USA to move to vultr (He has over 5,000 shared hosting clients) So he would have purchased several $$$/mo dedicated servers from you vultr!
